On the weekend of the 14th of October i raced at a very wet Silverstone in a Formula Renault. I hadn’t any testing a jumped right into qualifying against a grid of 40+ F3 cars, Formula Renaults and other single seaters. I only managed just over 3 laps before stopping the car but still managed an impressive achievement of 11th fastest through the speed trap with the speed of 130 mph!

Race day was next and it rained… a lot! so much so that previous races were called off. So we got sent out to start, i ended up starting last due to last minute problem we had to sort out. When the race started I was blinded by the spray, and flew into turn one. i went around the outside of a few cars and headed towards the Maggots and Becketts combo, i made up two more positions before having a big slide onto the straight as i got the power down. Shortly after reaching “The Wing” pit straight the race was red flagged due to the conditions being too dangerous to continue.

Although it was a shame that the race was called off, it was great experience to drive in those conditions and learn the car control of a single seater and also get to drive the famous Silverstone GP Circuit!
